Panera wished to extend their CPG portfolio into a new refrigerated food category, ready-to-bake flatbread pizza. When developing packaging to support the launch, LAM leaned into the newly established design system while stretching the look and feel to offer appropriate ‘take & bake’ pizza category cues. We made the choice to place the brand zone at the bottom of the pizza cartons to ensure consumers could find them when merchandised horizontally. The results speak for themselves… Panera is now the #1 Deli Pizza Brand and is driving growth in a resurgent category! And it tastes mmm good!
